A regular destination for so many Columbia residents, I hesitate to review. But what would you tell an out-of-towners? How would you describe this neighborhood favorite?
The Free Times rated the Filet Mignon with French Quarter Pimento Cheese among the best meals in Columbia:
"[It] was a stroke of genius on the part of former chef Jon Campagna, now head chef at Solstice. What also sets the steak apart is that it’s bacon-wrapped, which allows the cut to stay fresher longer and lets the bacon cook the sides of the steak so that both come out crispy. A Columbia treasure."

While the steak is famous, I cry for the fried oysters - always fresh, not too chewy, lightly coated in a fabulous batter.
The service is always excellent. You can expect honesty from a staff that rarely tries to sell you up on wines and entrees. They know quite a bit about wine and have no trouble steering you in the right direction.
It’s a great place to go as group, relax and have drink while you wait to be seated. They don’t take reservations so don’t plan on a fast meal especially on Friday and Saturday night.
But don't expect a light meal because it won't happen at this southern comfort café. There's a lot going on in every entree and side on the menu. Tons of heavy ingredients that sometimes compete. Go in ready for a splurge because it's just difficult to avoid unless you're blessed with amazing will power.
