We decided to head to Hunter Gatherer at around 9:30 on a Friday night in the midst of a nasty downpour. I was quite bummed as I slipped into the rustic establishment as my newly dried hair had been ruined. Happily the stinky downpour was in no way an omen of the night.
The menu was loaded with interesting ideas and local ingredients and for once, I have didn't have to go to a fancy establishment to get it. We ordered the bean dip and some hand-crafted beers.
The beers (I cannot recall which ones) were delicious and the bean dip was awesome. An interesting concoction of cheese and whole black beans overflowing from the dish. I couldn't stop with the chips but was glad I forced myself to when my tofu Marsala came. Huge chunks of well prepared (not mushy) tofu came with generous serving of broccoli and a heaping scoop of rich mash potatoes. The meal was delightful and with tons of other appealing options, I know I'll be back. Think eclectic pizzas, homemade hummus, and the mothership of beer selections. Don't miss this gem.
